The Indian Stock Market remains sluggish as the Sensex is up 10.91 points at 26728.28. The Nifty is down 13.15 points at 8083.85. About 841 shares have advanced, 1227 shares declined, and 140 shares are unchanged. TCS, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel, Hero and Infosys are top gainers in the Sensex while Hindalco, Dr Reddy's Labs, GAIL, Reliance and ICICI Bank are major laggards in the Sensex.
The Indian Share Market recouped its early losses amid consolidation with the Sensex rising more than 100 points led by technology and FMCG stocks. However, the broader markets remained under pressure with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices falling marginally. Indian rupee has opened at its lowest level in 2015, down 24 paise to 63.78 a dollar against previous day's closing value of 63.54 per dollar.
About 798 shares have advanced, 967 shares declined, and 141 shares are unchanged on the BSE. TCS topped the buying list on Sensex, up 2.7 percent followed by Infosys and Bajaj Auto with 2 percent gains. Bharti Airtel, L&T, Coal India and BHEL climbed over 1 percent. ITC and HDFC also supported the market with marginal gains. Cipla, Dr Reddy's Labs, GAIL, Axis Bank and Wipro are major laggards while TCS, NTPC, Coal India, ONGC and Infosys are top gainers in the Sensex.

Today Intraday Trading Tips; Live Equity Stock Market News

The Indian Stock market rebounded sharply on Monday, tracking positive global cues. The Sensex rallied 197.15 points or 0.72 percent to 27655.79 and the Nifty reclaimed 8400, up 60.80 points or 0.73 percent at 8402.20. About 474 shares have advanced, 71 shares declined, and 88 shares are unchanged on the BSE.
The Indian share market extended gains led by banking & financials, FMCG, telecom, capital goods and technology stocks. The Sensex climbed 246.48 points or 0.90 percent to 27705.12 and the Nifty jumped 67.70 points or 0.81 percent to 8409.10. The broader markets outperformed benchmarks with the BSE Midcap and Small cap indices rising 1.4 percent and 2.2 percent, respectively.
More than 4 shares advanced for every share declining on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Telecom stocks rebounded today after the sell-off seen on Friday. Shares of HDFC, ITC, L&T, SBI, Axis Bank, M&M, HUL, Cipla, Wipro, NTPC, Tata Steel, Sesa Sterlite and BHEL were prominent gainers in trade, up 1-2 percent. ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Infosys and Sun Pharma advanced over half a percent. However, Reliance Industries, Hindalco Industries, Bajaj Auto, Dr Reddy's Labs and GAIL underperformed.

Indian Stock Market; Sensex up over 150 pts, Nifty above 8650

The Indian share market has opened strong following global cues. The Sensex is up 196.45 points or 0.6 percent at 28634.16, and the Nifty up 55.95 points or 0.6 percent at 8689.10. About 412 shares have advanced, 65 shares declined, and 89 shares are unchanged. BHEL, Dr Reddy's Labs, Sesa Sterlite, ITC and Tata Power are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are Cipla, Infosys and NTPC.
The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 62.77 per dollar on Tuesday versus 62.81 Monday. The dollar fell across the board, as investors worry that the greenback's rapid rise could prompt the Federal Reserve to be a little more cautious about raising interest rates this year. The dollar is up 24 percent against a basket of currencies since May and it could become a key issue at this week's Fed monetary policy meeting
In Europe, equities finished higher as investor sentiment continued to be positive on the back of the extra liquidity provided by the European Central Bank (ECB) in the region. In commodities, NYMEX crude is at a six-year low on signs of higher output in the US and Libya and a possible nuclear deal that could end sanctions for Iran, allowing more of its oil into the market. From precious metals space - gold prices continue to trade near 3 month lows of USD 1150 an ounce.
