The stock market continues its upward swing as the Nifty races towards 8300. The 50-share index is up 91.00 points or 1.1 percent at 8282.50. The Sensex is up 307.85 points or 1.1 percent at 27413.24. About 1497 shares have advanced, 613 shares declined, and 127 shares are unchanged. SBI is up 4 percent while Vedanta, Hindalco, Hero and Coal India re top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are HUL, Reliance, HDFC Bank and Wipro.
Today the stock market is in high spirits and is holding its early gains. The Sensex is up 247.91 points or 0.9 percent at 27353.30 and the Nifty is up 68.40 points or 0.8 percent at 8259.90. About 1306 shares have advanced, 396 shares declined, and 113 shares are unchanged. Metals, auto and Pharma stocks are lending major support to the indices. Hindalco is up 3 percent while Hero, HDFC, Tata Steel and Bajaj Auto are top gainers. HUL is down 2 percent.
Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Cipla, ICICI Bank and Vedanta are top gainers in the Sensex. The Indian rupee opened with marginal gain of 9 paise at 63.85 per dollar versus 63.94 Friday. The dollar edges higher against the euro. The euro dips below 1.12 to the dollar. The dollar index is currently at 94.80. Bank of Baroda is up 9 percent after its gross non-performing asset (NPAs) improved to 3.7 percent in March quarter.

Indian Stock Market Tips; Online Share Trading Updates

In Indian Share Market the S&P BSE Sensex pared gains in intraday trade on Friday, unaffected by the geo-political tensions in the Middle East. According to reports, Saudi Arabia has hit fresh targets inside Yemen to flush out Houthi Rebels.
Today Indian Market the 50-share Nifty index was trading at 8,356.10, up 13.95 points or 0.17 per cent. The 30-share index was up over 69.61 points and was trading at 27,527.19. It touched a high of 27694.41 and a low of 27471.32 in intraday trade today.
About 450 shares have advanced, 134 shares declined, and 88 shares are unchanged on the BSE. Infosys, Hindalco, SBI, ICICI Bank, TCS, Idea Cellular and Wipro were top gainers in early trade, up 0.8-1.7 percent while M&M, GAIL, Dr Reddy's Labs, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, BPCL and NMDC fell 0.7-2 percent.
The Indian rupee has opened lower by 13 paise at 62.80 per dollar today against previous day's close of 62.67. The dollar index bounced off a three-week trough led by some upbeat economic data and a rise in US treasury yields. On the global front, Asian markets were mixed.

Intraday Market Turns Choppy; Sensex, Nifty end in red

The Intraday market continued to be volatile amid marginal selling pressure in noon trade. The Sensex fell 36.80 points to 28466.50 and the Nifty declined 8.50 points to 8639.25. Metals, oil and FMCG stocks saw selling pressure while technology and auto stocks gained. The intraday market is still under selling pressure.
The Sensex is down 57.96 points at 28445.34, and the Nifty is down 17.50 points at 8630.25. About 915 shares have advanced, 1765 shares declined, and 170 shares are unchanged. Infosys, Bajaj Auto, Wipro, HDFC Bank and Sun Pharma are top gainers in the Sensex while Sesa Sterlite, NTPC, HDFC, Hindalco and Bharti Airtel are laggards.
Asian shares drifted higher today after a downbeat session on Wall Street kept sentiment in check, while the euro recovered from a fresh 12-year low touched on the divergent monetary policy paths between the United States and the euro zone.The S&P BSE Sensex slipped over 100 points after WPI inflation data came in at -2.06% for the month of February versus -0.39% in January.

Today Intraday Market Trims Gains after a Firm Start

Sensex slips into red; Nifty below 8800; The intraday market slips into red. The Sensex is down 62.75 points or at 28867.60 and the Nifty is down 23.10 points at 8752.90. About 1035 shares have advanced, 837 shares declined, and 158 shares are unchanged.
Sensex slipped into red after surging as much as 253 points in trade on Friday to reclaim its crucial psychological level of 29000.HDFC, ICICI Bank, Cipla, Sesa Sterlite and Tata Power are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are Sun Pharma, Hindalco, Maruti, Hero and GAIL are laggards.
In commodities, crude prices weaken with both benchmarks Brent and Nymex crude giving up gains. Brent crude trades around USD 57 per barrel levels. From precious metals space, gold prices remain largely unchanged at USD 1160 an ounce. Land Rover retail sales declined 7.65 percent to 24,185 units and Jaguar sales dropped 15 percent to 4,504 units during the same period.
