Today Market Tips 

  • Indian shares are likely to start without firm direction, tracing Asian equities that are mostly treading water, even as an oil rally gave US shares a boost overnight.
  • At the time of writing, the SGX Nifty was little changed, up 0.03 percent, or 2 points, to 7,636.
  • Asian markets were broadly higher, with the Nikkei rising 0.5 percent even as fresh concerns have started arising over the US dollar's recent fall against the yen.

Market Outlook:-
The market rebounded on Wednesday after a sell-off in previous two consecutive sessions.
    The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 208.93 points to 25109.39 and the 50-share NSE Nifty climbed 63.25 points to 7660.25.
         Lupin, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Sun Pharma, Hindalco Industries, Vedanta and UltraTech Cement topped buying list in early trade.
        The Indian rupee has opened marginally higher at 66.48 per dollar today against previous close of 66.54.
Asian markets too are trading in the green.
        Sun Pharmaceutical Industries shares gained 2.6 percent intraday after the company acquired 14 established prescription brands from Novartis AG and Novartis Pharma AG in Japan.

         The market has opened weak on Wednesday. The Sensex is down 68.30 points or 0.3 percent at 25262.19 and the Nifty is down 11.30 points or 0.1 percent at 7703.60. About 375 shares have advanced, 264 shares declined, and 25 shares are unchanged.
          The Indian rupee has opened lower by 5 paise at 66.75 per dollar against previous close of 66.71 a dollar.
            Asian shares consolidated their gains, shaking off earlier losses following attacks on the airport and a rush-hour metro train in Brussels as investors look to a brightening global economic picture.
          Shares of Kilburn Engineering gained 9 percent intraday as it has approved a proposal to merge McNally  Bharat Engineering with itself.
 
        Asian shares slipped on Wednesday, but held near 3 1/2 month highs hit earlier this week as investors took comfort from a brightening global economic picture, as they absorbed the shock of the suspected Islamic State suicide bomb attacks in Brussels. 
        The Brussels attacks have disturbed the markets, says Ian Hui, Global Market Strategist at JPMorgan Asset Management in an interview . However, he is hopeful of markets recovering soon.
          India will cut oil imports by 10 percent in next six years by raising domestic output, conserving fuel and shifting to alternate sources like natural gas, Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said.

Market Outlook:-

  • The market has opened flat on Wednesday. The Sensex is down 43.78 points or 0.2 percent at 24507.39, and the Nifty is down 3.55 points at 7457.05. About 290 shares have advanced, 147 shares declined, and 33 shares are unchanged.
  • BHEL, Adani Ports, Lupin, L&T and Infosys are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are Bajaj Auto, Dr Reddy's Labs, HDFC, ICICI Bank and Tata Motors.
  • The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 67.35 per dollar on Wednesday versus previous close of 67.38.
  • Pramit Brahmbhatt of Veracity said, "Weakness in global equity market will cause weakness in domestic equity market and rupee will depreciate further continuing with yesterday's pain. A levels of 67.50/dollar will have meaningful support for rupee."
  • Bangalore-based HealthCare Global Enterprises initial public offering (IPO) has opened for subscription. The issue which will close on March 18, priced at Rs 205-218 per share is planning to raise Rs 611 crore to Rs 650 crore.
  • US Federal Reserve policymakers are seen leaving short-term interest rates unchanged at a two-dfay policy meeting that began Tuesday, but also to signal that a rate hike is not too far off as long as the job market and inflation continue to improve.
  • The US central bank lifted borrowing costs in December for the first time in nearly a decade, but uncertainty over the impact on the US economy of slower growth in China and Europe since the beginning of the year has driven policymakers to hold off on any further rate hikes since then.
