  • Sun Pharma: The pharma company will announce its Q2 numbers today.  
  • Bosch: The company reported a net profit of Rs 704 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016. It had posted a net profit of Rs 393 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.  
  • SAIL: SAIL said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Korean giant Posco for technical collaboration for operational improvements.  
  • Lupin: Lupin reported its profit surged 58% from a year ago on strong sales growth in the US, the drugmaker’s biggest market. Net profit at India’s third largest drugmaker rose to Rs 662 crore for the quarter.  
  • Tata Chemicals: Tata Chemicals will announce its Q2 numbers today. 
  • JK Tyre: The company registered a consolidated net profit of Rs 110 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016 on account of growth in sales of passenger radials and agri tyres. It had posted a net profit of Rs 115.8 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.  
  • Tata Steel: The company might be planning to close down the deficit-hit pension fund at the heart of its UK steel crisis 
  • Bank of India: The bank will announce its Q2 numbers today.  
  • Apollo Tyres: Apollo Tyres reported a decline of 7% in consolidated net profit at Rs 260.03 crore for the quarter ended September.  
  • Balrampur Chini Mills: The company said that the board will consider a proposal for buy back of equity shares of the company on November 15. Shares of the company closed 1.18 per cent up at Rs 115.65.  
  • Narayana Hrudayalaya: Narayana Hrudayalaya announced that its board has approved cessation of operation at its unit at Berhampore, West Bengal by selling its entire shareholding in its wholly owned subsidiary, Asia Healthcare Development Ltd, to Lila Hospitals Private Ltd. 
  • L&T Infotech: L&T Infotech posted 11% rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 232.6 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016. The company registered net profit of Rs 209.1 crore in the same period a year ago.  
  • UCO Bank: The bank reported a net loss of Rs 384.8 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 against a net profit of Rs 156 crore in the same quarter last year.  
  • Snowman Logistics: Snowman Logistics its revenue for the quarter declined 15% yoy to Rs 47 cr as revenue from temperature controlled services declined by 10.7%.

Cipla: The pharma company will announce its Q2 numbers today. 

Biocon: Biocon and its partner Mylan Inc announced submission of Mylan's biologics licence application to USFDA for a proposed biosimilar to branded trastuzumab for treatment of certain breast and gastric cancers. 

Tata Communications: The company on Tuesday reported a dip of 64% in its consolidated net profit at Rs 40 crore for the September quarter, mainly due to impairment charges on its investment in South Africa-based firm Neotel. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 112.3 crore in the same period a year ago.

IndiGo: InterGlobe Aviation registered a 24% rise in net profit at Rs 139.9 crore in the quarter ended September 2016.It had reported a net profit of Rs 113.13 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Lupin: The pharma company will announce its Q2 numbers today.

Larsen & Toubro: Larsen & Toubro announced that it has forged a long-term technical licence agreement with Chiyoda Corporation for its flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) technology.

Va Tech Wabag: The company posted a net profit of Rs 28.4 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 24.12 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015.

Bosch: The company will announce its Q2 numbers today.

Repco Home Finance: The company earned a net profit of Rs 45.7 crore for the quarter ended September 2016 as against Rs 39 crore earned during the same period last year, registering a growth of 17%.

Nagarjuna Oil Refinery: The board of directors of the company considered and approved sale of 77.6 crore equity share of Rs 10 each held by the company in Nagarjuna Oil Corporation.

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals: The company reported a net profit of Rs 415.9 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to net loss of Rs 913.4 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

PTC India Financial Services: PFS reported a decline of 59% in standalone net profit at Rs 84.9 crore for the July-September quarter of the fiscal. Company's profit in corresponding July-September quarter was at Rs 211.4 crore.

Adani Enterprises Ltd: Adani Enterprises will make unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), also known as drones, in joint venture with Israeli firm Elbit Systems.

The company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 127 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 as compared to Rs 172 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015.  

Total income has decreased from Rs 1,199 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 to Rs 966.8 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016.  

Stock Commentary:  

Bharat Forge Ltd is currently trading at Rs 854.9, down by Rs 3.35 or 0.39% from its previous closing of Rs 858.25 on the BSE.  

The scrip opened at Rs 869.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs 869.95 and Rs 842.2 respectively. So far 1399395 (NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs 19980.06 crore.  

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 979.35 on 10-Oct-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs 686.8 on 24-Jun-2016. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 893 and Rs 820.1 respectively.

Greaves Cotton Q2 FY17 at Rs 51 crore


Greaves Cotton Limited, one of India’s leading engineering companies, has, despite tough market conditions, reported revenues of Rs 489 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 as against Rs 473 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015. 

EBITDA for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 is Rs 70 crore as against Rs 76 crore for the same period last year, recording a EBITDA margin of 14.3% during the current quarter.

The Profit After Tax (PAT) for the quarter ended September 30, 2016 is Rs 51 crore as against Rs 55 crore for the corresponding period last year. During the quarter, the company had taken a few initiatives that would help it prepare for the future which resulted in higher Operating Expenses and a consequent reduction in profits. The financial results of the company have been prepared in accordance with IndAS that came into effect from April 1, 2016.

Commenting on the results, Mr. Nagesh Basavanhalli, MD & CEO said “Despite a challenging market environment, the company with its sustained focus on various lines of business has recorded QOQ revenue growth of 9.88% in the quarter ended September 30, 2016 over Q1 FY 2017 and a 3.3% growth over the corresponding period last year. This has been possible due to strategic initiatives on launching new range of solutions, enhancing service quality and entering new geographies. Contributing to the higher revenue is robust growth in the Farm Equipment Business and the Auxiliary Power business.”  

Commenting on the company’s profitability, Mr. Basavanhalli said, “We continue our value engineering efforts that have delivered a healthy EBIDTA margin of 14.3% - a bump up from the 13.6% of Q1 FY2107. Our efforts on cost controls are sustainable & will continue to improve.”

Live Stock Market Updates - Sensex slips over 150 points

The Indian stock market fluctuated between gains and losses as a selloff in drug makers was countered by rally in FMCG companies. The domestic market has opened in green.

At 12:41 PM, the S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27,349 down 80 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,486 up mere two points.  

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.85% at 12,903 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 1.75% at 12,937.  

ITC, HUL, Adani Ports, Cipla, GAIL and ICICI Bank are among the gainers, whereas Sun Pharmaceuticals, Dr Reddy's, Lupin, L&T and Maruti Suzuki are losing sheen on NSE.  

Some buying activity is seen in FMCG, private banking, media and metal sectors, while pharma, auto, banking, IT and realty sectors are showing weakness on NSE.  

The INDIA VIX is 2.90% at 16.9425. Out of 1,897 stocks traded on the NSE, 1,387 declined, 663 advanced and 397 remained unchanged today.  

A total of 25 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 30 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.  

Shares of the FMCG stocks rallied after the GST council decided on a four tier tax rate structure. The tax rate slabs have been fixed at 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in a press conference in New Delhi. ITC Ltd is currently trading at Rs 250.85, up by Rs 10.5 or 4.37% from its previous closing of Rs 240.35 on the BSE.

Bharti Infratel Ltd is currently trading at Rs 369.9, up by Rs 14.7 or 4.14% from its previous closing of Rs 355.2 on the BSE.

DCB Bank slipped 1% after huge block deal.Around 1.23 million shares of the bank has changed hands in a two block deal.

Bajaj Auto is trading lower after the company said that its domestic motorcycle sales rose 5% in the month of October 2016, at 212,997 units as against 202,042 units in the same month of last year.

Escorts is trading marginally lower on BSE after the company reported strong tractor sales in October 2016 over October 2015. Domestic tractor sales rose 52% to 8,859 units in October 2016 over October 2015. Export rose 270% to 111 units in October 2016 over October 2015.

Lupin is trading lower on the BSE. The pharma company said that it has received final approval from the USFDA to market norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol tablets marked for use by females of reproductive potential to prevent pregnancy.

Tata Motors fell 2.6%. The company sold 16,311 units of passenger vehicles in October, up 28% from the year ago. Jaguar Land Rover, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors, reported 7% year-on-year rise in US October sales figures.

वित्त वर्ष 2017 की दूसरी तिमाही में बजाज ऑटो का मुनाफा 6.7 फीसदी बढ़कर 1122 करोड़ रुपये हो गया है। वित्त वर्ष 2016 की दूसरी तिमाही में बजाज ऑटो का मुनाफा 1052 करोड़ रुपये रहा था।

वित्त वर्ष 2017 की दूसरी तिमाही में बजाज ऑटो की आय 0.4 फीसदी बढ़कर 6432 करोड़ रुपये पर पहुंच गई है। वित्त वर्ष 2016 की दूसरी तिमाही में बजाज ऑटो की आय 6407 करोड़ रुपये रही थी।

साल दर साल आधार पर दूसरी तिमाही में बजाज ऑटो का एबिटडा 1316 करोड़ रुपये से घटकर 1296 करोड़ रुपये रहा है। सालाना आधार पर दूसरी तिमाही में बजाज ऑटो का एबिटडा मार्जिन 21.5 फीसदी से घटकर 21.4 फीसदी रहा है।

सालाना आधार पर दूसरी तिमाही में बजाज ऑटो की अन्य आय 268 करोड़ रुपये से बढ़कर 342 करोड़ रुपये रही है। सालाना आधार पर दूसरी तिमाही में बजाज ऑटो की एक्स-एक्साइज ड्यूटी 6079 करोड़ रुपये के मुकाबले 6054 करोड़ रुपये रही है।

बजाज ऑटो के मुताबिक दूसरी तिमाही में घरेलू बाजार में बाइक बिक्री की ग्रोथ इंडस्ट्री के 17 फीसदी ग्रोथ के मुकाबले 23 फीसदी रही है। हालांकि अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजारों में दिक्कतें अभी भी बरकरार हैं। 30 सितंबर 2016 तक कंपनी के पास 11398 करोड़ रुपये की नकदी मौजूद है।
