The Indian share market is on fire fuelled by
banks and Pharma stocks. The Sensex is up 300.50 points or 1 percent at 28005.85 and the Nifty is up 77.80 points or 0.9 percent at 8499.60. About 1502 shares have advanced, 776 shares declined, and 130 shares are unchanged. Dr Reddy's Labs, M&M, Lupin, Hero and Coal India are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are Reliance, HUL, BHEL and Infosys.
The Indian Share market looks happy and bright beginning August F&O series on a positive note. The market remained strong on the first day of August series, rising 1 percent by banking & financials, auto and Pharma stocks. The broader markets also traded in line with benchmarks. The BSE Midcap index rallied 1.3 percent and Smallcap gained 0.9 percent.
Gold slipped to near 5-5.5 year lows and was on course for a sixth straight weekly fall, its longest retreat since 1999, after upbeat US economic data strengthened expectations for a near-term hike in interest rates. Bullion was also set to end July with its biggest monthly decline in more than two years after a deep rout last week further shook investor confidence, with more losses seen ahead.

The Indian Share market extended losses in morning trade with the Sensex falling 318.40 points or 1.13 percent to 27793.91 and the Nifty declining 87.95 points or 1.03 percent to 8433.60. The broader markets, too, slipped into red. The BSE Midcap index dropped 1 percent and Smallcap declined 0.8 percent. About 760 shares have advanced, 1111 shares declined, and 102 shares are unchanged on the BSE. Bank Nifty fell 300 points.
ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, L&T, Tata Steel and GAIL are among major losers while Lupin, HUL, Cipla, NTPC and Dr Reddy's Labs are major gainers in the Sensex. The Indian stock market is down sharply this morning, with investors pressing sales across the board, amid worries about the global economy on the back of recent disappointing data out of China.
The benchmark BSE Sensex plunged by 237 points to trade below the 28,000 level in morning trade due to continue selling by investors after concerns over participatory notes and sharp loss in global markets. The 30-share index tumbled 237 points, or 0.84 per cent, to 27,603.02, with all sectoral indices led by realty, banking and auto posting losses up to 1.46 per cent.

The Indian Share market remained sluggish in noon
trade with the Nifty continuing to struggle below the 8,000 mark, dragged lower by banking and real estate stocks. The Sensex dropped 98.23 points to 26488.32 and the Nifty fell 33 points to 7980.90. About 880 shares have advanced, 1342 shares declined, and 163 shares are unchanged on the BSE.
Axis Bank, Future Retail, Essar Oil, Bharti Infratel, BHEL, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors and Asian Paints were most active shares on exchanges. HDFC, Cipla, Dr Reddy's Labs, BHEL and ICICI Bank are major losers in the Sensex. Among the gainers are Tata Power, Coal India, GAIL, Wipro and M&M. Nestle India fell 2.5 percent as food safety regulator, FSSAI ordered scanning and testing of 7 more nestle products.
HDFC and ICICI Bank dropped 1.8 percent and 1.2 percent, respectively. HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, ITC, BHEL and Cipla dropped 0.2-0.6 percent while Infosys, M&M, Wipro, Coal India and NTPC gained 0.2-0.8 percent. Crude oil futures rose Rs 38, or 1 percent, to Rs 3,856 per barrel today as speculators created positions amid a recovery in Asian trade amid Greece and supply worries.
