Dhanteras Intraday Stock Tips By CapitalHeight

  • Gold fell as markets believed higher rates would hurt demand for the non-yielding asset.
  • Gold sales are likely to be flat this Dhanteras, which is considered as an auspicious day to buy precious metals, due to weak economic environment and poor monsoon, jewellers said. Jewellers also expect demand to be more inclined towards investment related items like coins, bars after launch of three schemes by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week. Dhanteras, which usually falls two days ahead of the Diwali festival, will be celebrated on Monday this year.
  •  Among other precious metals, platinum fell to a one-month low of $930.50 an ounce. Palladium slid nearly 1 percent, and was trading near a six-week low.
  • The Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan said on Friday bringing down inflation would help stabilise the Indian rupee, while adding he welcomed government efforts to boost economic growth through structural reforms.
  • Falling for the third straight day, the benchmark BSE Sensex today lost almost 39 points to close at over one-month low of 26,265.24 in a choppy trade today ahead of Bihar election results, which are due Sunday.
  • Asian stocks kicked off the new trading week mixed, mirroring the handover from Wall Street amid weakening commodity prices.
  • The rupee weakened past 66 per dollar for the first time since September 29 as it has opened lower by 65 paise at 66.41 per dollar against 65.76 Friday.
